Grew up in Connecticut, with a fondness for drawing and the Hartford Whalers. Received a BA in Environmental Studies from the University of Vermont, focusing on labor studies and domestic production. Initially began sewing as a creative response to his education.
Moved to Portland, Oregon after school and deepened focus on sewing and design. In 2005, launched menswear line under the name a broken spoke that continued until 2008. In fall of 2009, released first collection under his own name. In 2010 he was hired as one-third of the design team behind Pendleton’s contemporary line The Portland Collection, where he designed for five seasons. Released capsule collection with Bridge & Burn in fall of 2015. Currently focusing on special projects and on relaunching his eponymous line.
